As the Syracuse Orange track and field teams head towards the ACC Championships at the end of the month, Shaina Harrison and Freddie Crittenden continue to lead the way. At last weekend's Armory Invitational, Harrison won the 60m dash in a time of 7.37 seconds, which is just .01 behind her season best. Harrison is tied atop the ACC Leaderboard in the event, which she won last year.
Other top performers for the women were 6th place finishes for Tia Thevenin (60m hurdles) and Khadejia Sellers (200m), and a 7th-place finish from Regine Hunter in the triple jump.
Crittenden finished 2nd in the 60m hurdles behind Hampton's Trey Holloway, but his performance was good enough to earn him ACC Track Performer of the Week honors. Freddie's still got the fastest ACC time, and 4th fastest in the NCAA, in the event. Richard Floyd placed 8th in the event.
Jabari Butler took 3rd place in the high jump, and he's just outside the top 20 in the NCAA in the event. The strong seasons from Crittenden, Butler and the distance group has the Syracuse men ranked 21st in this week's USTFCCCA poll.
The Orange will be in action this coming weekend in Boston for the Valentine Invitational and at Iowa State for the Iowa State Classic. Since there was no video from the Armory, take a look back at Harrison and Crittenden in action from Penn State two weeks ago.
