Syracuse Basketball: Tyler Lydon leaves game with Achilles injury

Two days after a career-high 29 points, Tyler Lydon left Monday’s game with an Achilles injury.

Syracuse Orange sophomore forward Tyler Lydon left Monday’s game against Eastern Michigan with a strained right Achilles, according to the official SU men’s basketball Twitter account.

Lydon was coming off of a career-high 29 points against Georgetown on Saturday. The Orange suffered its fourth loss of the season, 78-71.

Tonight against Eastern Michigan, Lydon had 12 first-half points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor, including 2-of-2 from 3-point range. He also grabbed six rebounds and dished our four assists in his 16 minutes of action.

Syracuse was leading 41-19 when Lydon was injured. He immediately exited the game and went to the locker room with trainer Brad Pike.

Jim Boeheim said “we’ll see” when asked if Lydon will be good to go on Wednesday against St. John’s.

The Orange improved to 7-4 with its victory over Eastern Michigan tonight.
