While you were busy eating a lot of food and getting into political arguments with your family on Thursday night, the Syracuse Orange released their injury report for this week vs. the Pittsburgh Panthers. There’s little surprise to see that quarterback Eric Dungey is listed as doubtful.
Dungey, who suffered a still-undisclosed injury in the first quarter of the Clemson game in early November, hasn’t seen the field since. It’s clearly not a concussion, but it’s unclear what else it could be. Either way, Sean’s happy since he made the point earlier in the week that Dungey shouldn’t suit up at all for the Pitt game.
Also listed as ‘doubtful’ this week is defensive end Jake Pickard. Pickard also hasn’t seen the field since the Clemson game, and while he’s not a starter, losing that defensive line depth is especially difficult against the Panthers. Pitt’s run game is a tough one to stop. It won’t be made much easier without Pickard and nose tackle Steven Clark, who’s out for the season.
Wideout Devin Butler is also listed as out. While we don’t know the extent of his injuries, the freshman has missed more than half of the season (though not enough to receive a medical redshirt).
Hopefully this is it for injuries this week...
