Syracuse is off to an auspicious 3-0 start to the season, picking up a key victory over Monmouth on Friday. As part of the Brooklyn Holiday Hoops Invitational, which is neither in Brooklyn or on a holiday, the South Carolina State Bulldogs come to the Carrier Dome. So what does the TNIAAM staff predict?

This should be an easy game for the Orange as they prepare for South Carolina this weekend. The Bulldogs are shooting less than 40% from the field and have been blown out by the Gamecocks and Wichita State already. Look for Syracuse to take control of this game early and give Boeheim some time to experiment with some different line-up combinations.

This will be over early, and fast. The Bulldogs lost by a margin of 46 to Wichita State earlier this season, so what do you expect from the Orange? Tyler Lydon went missing again in the last game, but Andrew White III has proven to be a reliable scoring source every game. All the Orange need is for Lydon to snap out of this inconsistent rut he is in, and become the player Syracuse fans know he is. With a few easy opponents left before the real season begins, Lydon better get his act together fast, or else it may be to late.

This game will be over before it even starts. I fully expect Syracuse to punish South Carolina State on the defensive end. SCSU’s tallest player in 6-foot-8 so I also expect Syracuse to dominate the rebounding battle. Look for Syracuse to work the ball inside more this game — the Orange got a little shot happy last game and should look to take advantage of its size down low on the offensive end.

Obviously we're going to win running away. The real question is, will Tyler Lydon finally wake up? Would be nice to see him get his groove back before the other South Carolina game.
