With the Monmouth game out of reach, Syracuse Orange freshman Taurean Thompson came down awkwardly on his left foot, falling to the ground and putting the fear of God into Syracuse Orange fans who were just getting used to the idea of big man depth. He was carried to the locker room and taken to the hospital for x-rays. In the meantime, fears ran wild that he’d have to miss extended time.
Per Donna Ditota, it looks like the news is going to be good-ish.
"They said it was just a sprain," he said. "They said I could go full practice today but once I felt hesitant, I should slow down."
"I feel back to normal," he said.
Donna says Thompson did practice with the team on Monday and did not appear to be favoring the injured foot at all. He says his plan to practice at full speed and see how he feels. Syracuse’s next game is Tuesday against South Carolina State as part of the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational.
