The Syracuse Orange’s matchup with the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday is the final home game of the season, and thus, the final home game for a host of SU players -- 18 in all.
You know the headliners here: Amba Etta-Tawo, Brisly Estime and Jason Emerich will all be missed quite a bit from a production standpoint next year (and in the case of Emerich, he already is). But that doesn’t mean you should overlook the full list, which we’ve included below (via SU):
Eric Anthony, Jon Burton, Alvin Cornelius, Terell Drayton, Jason Emerich, Brisly Estime, Amba Etta-Tawo, Marqez Hodge, Hernz Laguerre, Michael Lasker, Cameron MacPherson, Wayne Morgan, George Morris, Omari Palmer, Josh Parris, Ted Taylor, Austin Wilson and De'Jon Wilson.
Looking over that list, you may have noticed that some of those players actually have some eligibility left on the books. Burton (redshirt junior), Drayton (junior) and Austin Wilson (redshirt junior) all fall into that bucket. While Drayton’s a walk-on, the other two were on scholarship. So when you hear Dino Babers say there are still between five and seven spots left for the 2017 roster, that’s how.

Still, congrats to all of the players being honored before tomorrow’s game. Some we knew better than others, but all of them played a part in Syracuse football for the last four or five years. And for that, we thank them.
(but seriously, Amba and Briz, please find an additional year of eligibility somewhere...)
