Recruiting: 2017 PF/C Bourama Sidibe to announce commitment Monday

Could SU be adding its second player for 2017?

NCAA Womens Basketball: Final Four Practice Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Less than a week ago, we were worried about the Syracuse Orange’s lack of commitments for the class of 2017. Then on Saturday, Oshae Brissett committed to SU. Syracuse may be adding a second name to the class very shortly.

According to Adam Zagoria, 2017 power forward/center Bourama Sidibe will announce his decision on Monday, November 21. He had official visits with the Orange, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech -- though his last visit was with Syracuse during the season-opening Colgate win on Friday (along with fellow 2017 target Quade Green). Georgetown also visited with him a couple weeks ago, according to 247Sports, but he seems to be choosing between SU, Tech and OK State.

Sidibe is a three-star prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings, though 247 actually gives him four stars. Those composite rankings have him listed as the 153rd-best prospect in the country and fourth-best in New Jersey, while 247 has him ranked 89th overall and first in the state.

The big man stands at 6-foot-10 and 220 pounds or so, meaning he’ll need to beef up a little bit before leaving Newark’s St. Benedict’s Prep School for college. He’s a native of Mali, and has been seen as a rising prospect in most recruiting rankings.

We’ll keep our eyes peeled come Monday. And hopefully, Bourama’s joining Syracuse basketball program.
