Clemson’s Dabo Swinney: Syracuse a really dangerous team

The Tigers’ coach spoke to the media today, and shared some thoughts on the Orange.

In advance of this Saturday’s game between the Syracuse Orange and Clemson Tigers, CU coach Dabo Swinney spoke with local media. He chatted about last week’s win over Florida State, but more importantly for us, he had some things to say about the Orange. We take a look at those quotes below:

Why thanks, Dabo. would have to agree with all of that. You can see the visible change in this group from week one to now as they continue to buy into what Dino Babers is selling.

What he’s describing here is what’s been an advantage against teams like UConn and Boston College -- and something that worked pretty well vs. Virginia Tech too. But obviously Clemson’s a much different test there.

Dabo, with the compliments. We’ve been talking about the defense’s improvement of late, and it’s not lost on opponents either.

We’ve yet to really get into one of the high-flying, high-scoring contests projected for Syracuse at the beginning of the season. Notre Dame was probably the closest, but even then, it was really the case of two bad defenses trading awful tackling. Clemson’s defense is obviously good enough to prevent this sort of game. But they’re aware of the risks should it occur.

He’ll have more to say during Wednesday’s coach’s teleconference. But rest assured that the Clemson staff is not underestimating Syracuse at all this week.
