As is customary for in-conference games, the Syracuse Orange have provided their formal injury report in advance of Saturday’s game vs. the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
Once again, SU will be without much of its starting offensive line. Cody Conway, Jason Emerich and Omari Palmer are all reported out again, along with reserve O-lineman Keaton Darney.
We know for a fact that’s not EVERYONE who’s out. At least Antwan Cordy and Juwan Dowels would also be included there for their season-ending injuries. And some players like Jamal Custis, Adly Enoicy and George Morris II have yet to see the field all season. But in the immediate term, it appears Conway, Emerich and Palmer are the regulars who will be absent from this weekend’s road trip to Winston-Salem.
Mike Mcallister points out on Scout that a failure to see Parris Bennett (hurt in the fourth quarter vs. Notre Dame) and Kayton Samuels (missed last couple games) is a positive. But that also assumes the report’s complete accuracy. We’ll wait and see whether or not those players are with SU and suited up before kickoff.
It can’t be overstated how much injuries on the line have harmed Syracuse with regard to running Dino Babers’s offense this year. As Kevin discussed the other day, the inexperience and injuries across the board have been pretty detrimental, though they’re also setting up a potentially brighter future there as young players see the field.
We haven’t seen an injury report from Wake Forest just yet, but it’s assumed QB Kendall Hinton will remain out of action in favor of John Wolford.
