The Syracuse Orange have been receiving some pretty high praise in the lead-up to the 2016-17 college basketball season. KenPom has them ranked 12th, as does SB Nation, and the USA Today Coaches Poll says 17th to start the season.

The positive remarks are extended to some of SU’s players as well. Tyler Lydon and Andrew White III were both listed among CBS Sports’ top 100 players in today’s rankings.

On Lydon, at no. 23:

“As a freshman, Lydon shot 40.5 percent from 3-point range while averaging 10.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. The 6-9 forward is an interesting prospect. He projects as a nice stretch-4 at the NBA level.”

And White, at no. 64:

“Maybe the most important transfer acquisition of the offseason. White abruptly left Nebraska, and now Syracuse is a preseason top 25 team by way of landing White. He'll bring in a stat line of 16.6 points and 5.9 rebounds, and a much-needed presence on the wing for a very promising lineup in Cuse.”

A slew of other ACC players also made the list (22 in all). Rather than posting that full collection of stars for the loaded conference, just know that four of the top 10 play for ACC schools, and three of the top seven are at Duke. Coach K’s recruiting prowess at this juncture is insane, and I fear for how good the Blue Devils are going to be this season.

Any other Syracuse players you think should’ve been included. Share your praise and gripes below.
