The Syracuse Orange field hockey regular season comes to a close this upcoming weekend. Then comes the fun part: The ACC Tournament.
The No. 3 Orange took care of business with a 2-1 victory over No. 13 Boston University on Sunday, giving them a 13-2 record overall. They’ll close things out this upcoming Sunday against Indiana for Senior Day. After that, it’s on to the ACCT where the Orange have already locked up a No. 2 seed.
Duke is the regular-season champion and gets a first-round bye. They’re followed by 3-seed Boston College, 4-seed Louisville, 5-seed North Carolina, 6-seed Virginia, and 7-seed Wake Forest.
Syracuse will take on Wake Forest in the first round and the winner of that game will face the winner of the BC/Virginia game in the semis. SU might want to see Virginia in order to avenge a 1-0 loss from a few weeks back. SU defeated BC 3-1 and defeated Wake Forest 4-2 earlier this year.
Lies Lagerweij remains your scoring and overall points leader (12 goals, one assist, 25 total points) while Elaine Carey leads the squad with seven assists (21 total points).
The ACC Championship begins on Nov. 3 in Winston-Salem. All games will be televised on ACC Network Extra and RSN.
