BC Blog: BC Interruption
Rivalry: 30-19, Syracuse
Current Streak: 1, Syracuse
First Meeting: Way back in 1924 these two teams played for the first time (you’d have thought they’d have played sooner). Syracuse won 10-0 in Archbold Stadium.
Last Meeting: Scott Shafer went out with a win as Cole Murphy hit a 35-yarder as time expired and the Orange held off the Eagles for a 20-17 victory in the Dome.
Head Coaches: SU: Dino Babers (1st Year, 3-4), BC: Steve Addazio (4th Year, 20-24)
Last Year: After consecutive 7-6 seasons, BC finished 3–9 (0–8) in last place in the Atlantic Division. The team featured one of the best defense in the nation and also one of the worst offenses.
Last Game: Clemson came to town and, as SU fans know, nothing good happens when they do. The Tigers won 56-10.
"Fear Me, I've Killed Hundreds of Timelords": Defensive lineman Harold Landry is tied for 22nd in the nation with 8.5 tackles for loss. He’s also tied for second in the nation with four forced fumbles. Basically, try to stay away from Harold Landry.
If Syracuse Wins: We’re 4-4? Wait, how did that happen?
If Syracuse Loses: Man, that takes a lot of the juice out of the Virginia Tech win. And obviously, dampens whatever excitement that gave you about the season to come.
Fun Fact: As you might be aware, BC head coach Steve Addazio was an SU assistant between 1995 and 1998, working mostly with the offensive line.
