We can expect to see a lot of touchdowns scored on Saturday when the Syracuse Orange host the Virginia Tech Hokies. Let’s hope Syracuse scores as many of them as possible.

The Syracuse Chapter of Uplifting Athletes is holding a Touchdown Pledge Drive on Saturday to help make a difference in the rare disease community. Every time Syracuse scores a touchdown, it will add to the pot and help UA raise more money.

In order for the drive to work, they need pledges. Orange fans can support their efforts by making a pledge through the Syracuse online Touchdown Pledge Drive site. Proceeds from the Syracuse Chapter of Uplifting Athletes Touchdown Pledge Drive will go directly to support rare disease research and patient focused programs.

The Syracuse Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2013 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. The student-athlete led Syracuse Chapter serves the rare disease community in honor of Rob Long, a former Orange punter and team captain.

More recently the Syracuse Chapter has established a bond with Lillian Belfield, a young rare brain cancer patient, and her family as an inspiration.

If you’re not all that excited about SU Football right now, consider making a pledge as a great way to feel like you’ve still got something to root for on Saturday. The more we score, the better we do, and the more help we can create together.
