There's been a flurry of Syracuse Orange coaching staff announcements and reports in recent days. Dino Babers officially welcomed his Bowling Green contingent on Monday, we also learned that outside WR coach Christ Beatty was on the outside on his way to Maryland. Then reports trickled in that SU had plucked DL coach Vinson Reynolds and RB coach Mike Hart from Western Michigan.
Tuesday, Babers confirmed four other hires officially, including some we already knew about.
Sean Edinger (Asst. AD for Athletic Performance - Football), basically reprising his role from Bowling Green with a slight promotion in title.
Jeff Sobol (Asst. Strength and Conditioning Coach - Football), reprising his role from Bowling Green as well.
Brad Wittke (Director of Football Operations), who did the same for Bowling Green and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the program including, travel, team meals, and other non-coaching decisions.
Roy Wittke (Director of Football Player Development), Brad's Dad, who was Bowling Green's recruiting coordinator in 2015 and was the Falcons director of operations in 2014. Before that he spent 19 seasons at Eastern Illinois, including 17 as offensive coordinator.
With the introduction of two new strength and conditioning staff members, that left the fate of Will Hicks in limbo. Turns out he's remaining with SU Athletics but now he's going to be handling S&C for all of the non-revenue sports as Syracuse's assistant athletic director for athletic performance for Olympic sports.
We'll wait to see when the Reynolds and Hart announcements become official and if there's anyone else who's going to be added to the staff.
