Last January we had a Syracuse Orange Men's Soccer player accept a Generation Adidas contract. Alex Bono made history last year as the first to accept one of the GA deals in Syracuse history. He also got an immediate callup to the USMNT for the annual January Camp and was selected in the Top 10 of the SuperDraft.
This year, it looks like we'll be continuing the trend of having a GA signing from the men's team. Per some reports, a Generation Adidas offer has been extended to Syracuse midfielder Julian Buescher, a German international at the youth levels. Ives Galarcep has noted that Buescher will be accepting the deal imminently.
Buescher orchestrated the midfield for the Orange this year and is considered a Top 10 pick in the MLS SuperDraft by a few outlets. He's showing up on Ives' Big Board at Number 5 overall and he has him being picked up by DC United at number 13 overall, slotting in for a (most likely) vacating Perry Kitchen.
TopDrawerSoccer.com has him as the number 10 overall, heading to the New England Revolution, there for Jermaine Jones. Our SBN compatriots, The Bent Musket aren't too keen on Buescher, not for any fault of his own, but rather the fit of trying to replace Jones via the draft. They would rather look to bolster the defense at this point with the #10 overall pick, which I can't blame them.
Where Julian goes will come down to who needs a solid box to box midfielder, who can slot in relatively right off the bat. We'll find out where that is during the MLS SuperDraft on January 14, 2016.
