Malachi Richardson has really stepped up to fill a void in the Syracuse Orange offense in the last couple weeks and he was rewarded for his recent efforts by being named ACC Rookie of the Week.
Syracuse’s Richardson averaged 18.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in a pair of games for the Orange, including a career-high 23 points in Sunday night’s road loss to No. 13 Virginia. The Trenton, New Jersey, native connected on six 3-point shots against the Cavaliers while shooting 8-of-15 overall from the floor.
In Syracuse's big win over Duke on the road, Richardson scoured 14 and grabbed six boards.
Over the course of the whole week he's been 9-of-16 on three-pointers and has become a vital cog in the game, averaging 38.5 minutes/contest.
Nice to see that Malachi is more than just an awesome haircut and fingers remain crossed that we might continue to see him wearing orange next season as well.
