We were pretty excited when 3-star Georgia defensive back Monquavion Brinson verbally-committed to play for the Syracuse Orange in July. He chose SU over Kentucky, Louisville, Indiana and Mississippi State, among several other FBS schools.
We were pleased to hear that Brinson reaffirmed that commitment in December following Scott Shafer's firing and the hiring of Dino Babers. At the time his father did say that Monquavion would still visit other schools, namely Indiana and Louisville.
Alas, the good times had to come to an end this week as Brinson announced he is opening his recruitment back up.

Brinson's recommitment brings the Class of 2016 down to eleven verbal commits and makes him the eighth de-commitment since Shafer was fired. That sounds much worse than the reality, which is that this is pretty par for the course when one coach is fired and the new regime comes in with their own ideas, recruits and focus.
Next recruit up...
