Syracuse & Georgetown Officially Begin Four-Year Series on December 5

The Orange and the Hoyas will renew their not-so-friendly rivalry on December 5 and keep it going for three more years to follow.

TNIAAM

We already knew that the Syracuse Orange and Georgetown Hoyas would renew their rivalry on December 5 but now it's officially-official.

Syracuse heads to Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. for this year's contest and then settled into a home-and-home back and forth for three years after that. The former Big East rivals will meet in the Carrier Dome in 2016-17 and 2018-19 with another game at the Verizon Center in 2017-18.

You could make the argument that the only Big East rivals that SU needed to maintain match-ups with were Villanova, St. John's, Georgetown and UConn. If the Orange and Huskies end up meeting in the Battle 4 Atlantis, they'll have kept all those rivalries going in some form.

Syracuse leads the all-time series 49-41, including the previous meeting, a 58-53 victory in the 2013 Big East Tournament.

The Hoyas are coming off of a 22-11 season which ended in the third round of the NCAA Tournament to Utah.

In honor of the renewal of the rivalry, we've gone ahead and (what else?) created a t-shirt to commemorate the game. The Orange come into the game a bit like renegades...the team blamed for the break-up of the Big East...mired in NCAA sanctions...so we figured let's play it up. Coupled with the date of the game, we found our theme...
