Get To Know Your Orange Man - #11 TE Trey Dunkelberger

Get to know the guy behind one of the best names on the SU Football roster.

Trey Dunkelberger

Name: Trey Dunkelberger

Position: Tight end

Year: Sophomore

Height: 6'5"

Weight: 235

Hometown: Shillington, PA

High School: Governor Mifflin

2014 Stats: Trey played for the Los Angeles Pierce College Brahmas last year, which sounds awesome.

2015 Projections: Trey is currently fourth on the TE depth chart behind Josh Parris, Cameron MacPherson and Tyler Provo. But, given the way Syracuse likes to shuffle TEs to Hybrid and Hybrids to RB and RBs to WR...who the hell knows how this'll shake out.

How'd He Get Here: Dunk got a lot of looks after that one season at JUCO. He chose SU over offers from Akron (JUST LIKE OLD TIMES!), USF and Cincy. He was also apparently getting looks from Louisville, Clemson and Ohio State.

What'd Recruiting Sites Say: Three stars across the board

Money Quote: "The direction they want to go just seems like an exciting place to be at this time."

In November, he sent a message via Twitter to Syracuse assistant coach Bobby Acosta: "Hey coach are y'all looking for tight ends this class?"

Acosta's one-word reply changed Dunkelberger's life: "Yes."

Four days later, Syracuse offered a scholarship
