Earlier this week news broke that Syracuse Orange legend Pearl Washington would undergo brain surgery due to a tumor. His surgery was schedule for 12 p.m. yesterday, and by 7:30 p.m. Washington emerged from surgery, as reported by Donna Ditota.
This isn't the first time Washington has had a brain tumor; in 1995 the downstate native had a tumor that would eventually be diagnosed as benign.
The erstwhile point guard has had a plethora of support as friends have come to visit him at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. Washington has been living in the area working towards his master's degree. His fiancee, Debbie, spent the day with him while he underwent surgery on Thursday. The Syracuse community has also shown its support on Twitter, offering well wishes.
Prayers are with you Pearl Washington. THE Cuse legend but an even better man. #wellwishesforPEARL
