Syracuse will begin its 2015-16 season by welcoming Lehigh to the Carrier Dome on Friday, Nov. 13, SU Athletics announced Thursday.
It will mark the second consecutive Friday night season opener for the Orange, who played host to Kennesaw State on Friday, Nov. 14 a season ago. The Mountain Hawks will become the third Patriot League team to visit the Carrier Dome since the beginning of last season. In 2014-15, SU played Holy Cross on Nov. 28 and in-state foe Colgate on Dec. 22.
Lehigh finished last season 16-14 overall and 10-8 in the Patriot League. Brett Reed is entering his ninth season as the team's head coach. The highlight of his tenure, to this point, came in the 2012 NCAA Tournament, when you'll likely remember that Lehigh upset the second-seeded Duke Blue Devils in the first round.
Lehigh and Syracuse have played three times before but November's matchup will be their first meeting since 1931. The Orange is 3-0 in the all-time series.
After opening with Lehigh, Syracuse will also host St. Bonaventure on Nov. 17 before traveling to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. Here's everything else we know regarding the 2015-16 schedule:
