The Syracuse Orange football team gets a fairly easy start to the 2015 season with home tilts against the Rhode Island Rams, Wake Forest Demon Deacons and Central Michigan Chippewas. Then, it gets interesting.
"Interesting" got a bit more specific Thursday when we found out that three 2015 opponents are in the Top 15 of the preseason coaches poll.
The Orange will host the No. 13 LSU Tigers on September 23, travel to play the No. 8 Florida State Seminoles on October 31 and host the No. 12 Clemson Tigers on November 14.
Other SU opponents that received votes in the poll include the Louisville Cardinals (27) and N.C. State Wolfpack (3).
The ACC has three teams total in the poll: FSU, Clemson and No. 17 Georgia Tech. Along with L'ville and NC State, Virginia Tech, Miami, Duke and UNC all received votes.
Ohio State will be the coaches' clear No. 1 headed into the season, receiving 62 out of 64 first-place votes. No. 2 TCU received one first-place vote and No. 3 Alabama received the other. Baylor and Oregon round out the top five.
