Getting to know Orange cornerback Cordell Hudson.

Weight: 175

Hometown: Largo, Fla.

High School: Largo High School

2014 Stats: Hudson didn't play, hence the redshirt.

2015 Projections: Hudson will be in the mix to start at cornerback, Syracuse head coach Scott Shafer said at ACC Media Day. And even if it's Julian Whigham starting opposite Wayne Morgan -- that seems most likely -- Hudson should at least shuffle into the rotation at times.

How'd He Get Here: Hudson fielded offers from a number of schools, including Boston College and Wake Forest, before committing to SU.

What'd Recruiting Sites Say: Three stars all around.

Money Quote: Following a solid performance in the annual spring game on April 4:

"It was my first time being able to showcase my talent in front of the fans because I redshirted last year. I did pretty good but there's always room to improve."

Links of Wonder: Hudson is slightly undersized for a cornerback and, as of April, was hoping to add some weight over the summer.

What Does Shafer Think of Him: Shafer was particularly complimentary of Hudson's play in spring practice. To ESPN's Matt Fortuna on Hudson and the other corners:

"I think everybody has penciled-in Julian Whigham, Wayne Morgan, Corey Winfield as the guys. But (Cordell) Hudson and (Juwan) Dowels had great springs, and the competitive nature at that position's going to be extremely interesting. And I don't care who starts, I really don't. We can rotate all of them if we want to, keep fresh bodies."

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Hudson will enter the fall with senior standing, according to the SU directory. It will only be his second year on campus.
