All-ACC Preseason Football Team: Several Syracuse Players Receive Votes

Or, in other words, "Zero Syracuse Players Named to Team."

Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

The ACC released the 2015 All-Conference Preseason Team today, as voted on by the credentialed attendees at ACC Media Days Football Kickoff this week. And as you'd probably surmise, Syracuse did not have a single player named to the first (and only) team.

The Orange DID, however, have several players receive votes (thanks, you voters, you!). Among the recognized:

Steve Ishmael, 5 votes (12th among wide receivers)

Ivan Foy, 3 votes (10th among offensive tackles)

Rob Trudo, 7 votes (4th among centers)

Ron Thompson, 3 votes (10th among defensive ends)

Zaire Franklin, 7 votes (13th among linebackers)

Marqez Hodge, 2 votes (17th among linebackers)

Cole Murphy, 2 votes (5th among placekickers)

Riley Dixon, 6 votes (5th among punters)

...

Riley Dixon, 6 votes (5th among punters)

Riley Dixon, 6 votes (5th among punters)

Riley Dixon, 6 votes (5th among punters)

You guys are going to regret this when he wins the Heisman, FYI.

Beyond some gripes about Dixon, though, it's tough to take a ton of issue with Orange players not being included. We just went 3-9, and lost a bunch of players from that team. On the bright side, only way to go is up!

If you're curious who actually made the team, check out the full list below:
