Name: Parris Bennett

Position: Linebacker

Year: Sophomore

Height: 6'0"

Weight: 216

Hometown: Detroit, MI

High School: U-D Jesuit

2014 Stats: Bennett played in eight games last year and ended the season with four tackles to his credit.

How'd He Get Here: Bennett picked Syracuse over Pittsburgh, Akron, Bowling Green, Toledo and Western Michigan. According to Nate Mink, Bennett picked the Orange because of the good reviews of linebackers coach Clark Lea by Cameron Lynch and his texting ties with follow recruit classmate Zaire Franklin.

What'd Recruiting Sites Say: Scout -- 3 stars and Rivals -- 2 stars.

Money Quote: "(Lea) said I could play middle because I'm athletic and I can cover and also I can play (strong side linebacker) to rush the passer. I have pretty long arms."
