Saturday, Boeheim's Army made a solid debut in The Basketball Tournament, cruising to a 91-73 victor over NYC Superstars. A day later, the team comprised mostly of Syracuse Orange alums will look to advance to the Super 17 Regional in Chicago when they take on 20th & Olney.
The game will be broadcast live at the TBT website.
After knocking off Max's All-Stars 87-80, 20th & Olney makes this a pseudo Syracuse vs. LaSalle showdown. Ramon Galloway, Tyreek Duren and Tyrone Garland, all members of LaSalle's 2013 Sweet Sixteen squad, are accompanied by recent La Salle grad Jerrell Wright and Steve Zack, amongst others. Wright led the team with 27 points and 12 rebounds in their Saturday win.
Demetris Nichols led the Army in their Saturday win with 24 points, followed by Eric Devendorf (18) and Deane (16). Hakim Warrick and Baye Keita led in the rebounding category with eight apiece. You can read more about the game and atmosphere in Jeremy's piece.
The winner will take on Liberty Ballers in the next round. Named for the SB Nation 76ers blog, the team features mostly Philadelphia talent, including three former Villanova Wildcats.
