Moe Neal was one of the two top targets (the other being New Jersey DE Jamal Holloway) for the 2016 class that visited the Syracuse campus on Thursday and came away impressed. In fact, Neal and his father decided to see even more than Holloway and remained in Syracuse until Friday afternoon. After the visit ended, the 2016 H-back told Mike McAllister of Scout.com in an interview that he will be announcing his commitment on August 1.
Neal, who has Syracuse in his top five along with Wake Forest, Duke, Boston College and Mississippi State, has not visited any other school in his top five and currently does not have any more visits scheduled. However, he did mention that he may opt to take more as his decision nears.
If Neal were to commit to the Orange, which given the above is a very high possibility, he would be the 12th commit of the 2016 class and make Robert Washington very happy that he'll have a good friend donning the Orange alongside him. However, Syracuse is still recruiting two more H-backs, N.J. ATH Amir Tyler and N.C. RB Connell Young, in the event that they cannot get a commitment from Neal.
