Name: Joe Stanard
Height: 5-10
Weight: 197
Year: Junior
Position: Safety
Hometown: Baldwinsville, NY
High School: C.W. Baker (Author's edit)
2014 Season: Did not play.

How'd He Get Here: Stanard was a walk-on prior to the start of the 2013 season. The selling point for choosing SU was the academic reputation.
What did recruiting sites say: Nothing, but he had offers from Wagner, Jacksonville, and D-III powerhouse Mt. Union.
Money Quote: Before stepping on the field for the Orange, he had this to say about his love of football, "I don't really want to play if I know I;m not getting any playing time. It's something I love. I wouldn't stop playing. I don't know what I would do." Hopefully, he'll see more action within the next two years. Gotta love a guy with this much passion for his sport!
Links of Wonder: The above quote is from an article written about him on syracuse.com. It talks about his upbringing and all of the work it took to be able to be a walk-on here at SU.
Twitterfeed: @JSIV_II
Tweet of Wonder: I'll forgive Joe for misspelling Carli's name, because I felt the same way when she scored her hat-trick...
What is going on lol Carlo Lloyd Hat trick in 15 minutes

What Does the Coaching Staff Think: If you're chosen as a walk-on, in any sport, it means the coaching staff sees good things. Obviously, Stanard made a good impression on Shafer & co.
Interesting Nugget O' Interest: He's a forensic science major and his dad, David, also went to Syracuse. LEGACY.
BONUS Interesting Nugget O' Interest: Joe played for Baldwinsville's 2010 Section III Class AA championship team.
Let's Get a Good Look Atcha:
