Name: Lucas Albrecht
Position: Defensive End
Year: Senior
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 251
Hometown: Hudson Falls, NY
High School: Hudson Falls
2014 Stats: Didn't play.
2015 Projections: Barring some injuries, Albrecht likely won't see the field this season. He's listed as Ron Thompson's backup on the spring depth chart.
How'd He Get Here?: His father, Dwight, sent Lucas's game tape to Syracuse. After watching it, the SU coaches invited Lucas to try out. That's according to PostStar.com.
What'd Scout/Rivals Say?: Nothing.
Money Quote: From 2011, on finding out he made the team.
"I don't know how I feel yet. I remember being happy when I found out. Camp's been really tiring. It's a lot to take in."

What Does Shafer Brumbaugh Think?:
"It takes a while to become a good defensive lineman. It doesn't happen overnight. He's still learning the game. It's a process. He has good ‘twitch' (quickness) for a big guy. He just has to work on the little things -- working on his stance, his explosion, his hands."
Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Albrecht, who redshirted in 2011, graduated in the spring with a degree in bioengineering and is now pursuing his master's degree in the same field. Smart dude. He was also a state champion wrestler in high school.
Let Us Get a Good Look Atcha: There aren't any football highlight reels of Albrecht, so you'll just have to settle for this video from one of his high school wrestling matches.
