The field for The Basketball Tournament (TBT) has been announced and will include 97 teams that will compete in four different regions across the United States. The opening rounds will take place on July 10-12 in Los Angeles and Atlanta.
Boeheim's Army, with a roster made up of former Syracuse Orange players Hakim Warrick, Terrence Roberts, Josh Pace, Eric Devendorf, Mookie Jones, Baye Keita and Rick Jackson, will compete in Philadelphia of the Northeast Region on July 17-19. The team will likely have a first-round bye and begin play on July 18.
The tournament is single elimination -- the top four teams will advance from the Northeast Region where they will compete in the Super 17 hosted in Chicago. The Super 17 will be live on ESPNU.
Should Boeheim's Army advance past the Super 17, they will play in New York City at Rose Hill Gym for the semifinals and championship games, which will appear live on ESPN. The semifinals and championship game take place on August 1 and 2, respectively.
Former Georgetown players Jason Clark, Austin Freeman and Christ Wright will band together with DMV's Finest which will also compete in Philadelphia. Who wouldn't love a Syracuse-Georgetown matchup in July? Other notables on the roster include Jerai Grant (Jerami's older brother) and Juan Dixon, who won the national championship with Maryland in 2002.
Fans can also live stream all TBT games directly from the TBT website.
The Northeast Regional games will be played at Philadelphia University. If you wish to attend, you can buy tickets here.
