Former Syracuse Orange and NFL safety Steve Gregory will join Syracuse's football staff as a special teams quality control coach, according to an SU Athletics press release.
Gregory started at cornerback for three seasons with the Orange from 2003-05 and also started at wide receiver in 2004. He then played eight seasons in the NFL -- six with the San Diego Chargers and two with the New England Patriots.
Jesse Johnson, Bart Tanski, and Joe Furco will also join the quality control staff. Along with Gregory, the four of them will replace Austin King, Chris Gould, Siriki Diabate and Michael Ghobrial, all of whom accepted coaching positions elsewhere in college football or, in Gould's case, the NFL.
