Nate Mink caught up with speedy Syracuse Orange wide receiver Steve Ishmael recently and noticed a bunch of changes.
Apparently, the sophomore has bulked up, gaining twenty pounds of muscle to top the scales at 203. No word, however, if that weight has been offset by the loss of the beautiful dreadlocks that topped his noggin last season. Ishmael has traded in his look for a new one:
"Through all my optimist years, I've always had an afro," he said. "That's what people know me for. When I got my dreads, I didn't really like them. I love my afro."
I suppose if we're going to lose one great hairstyle, we should at least gain a new one.
If you've read TNIAAM long enough, you know we love us some good hair to talk about. From Paul Harris's fro to Andy Rautins' fauxhawk to Prince-Tyson Gulley's dreads to whatever is happening under Trevor Cooney's chin, we can't help but admire the follicles foisted upon our fair heroes.
Do not deny us, Steven. We have so little. Give us some hair to root for.
