Syracuse Football Recruiting: Penn. DE/OT Noel Brouse Commits to Orange

The Orange add another name to a growing 2016 class.

Noel's Twitter Feed

Just a few days ago, we discussed the upcoming visit of Pennsylvania (Allentown) defensive end/offensive tackle Noel Brouse. The 6'6", 255-pound recruit took his unofficial visit on campus yesterday, and apparently that was all he needed to make his decision. We saw some rumbling on Twitter from the coaching staff. And then, shortly after, Brouse verbally committed to Syracuse today.

Syracuse was one of just two FBS scholarship offers for Brouse (the other was Old Dominion), though he did have a host of FCS offers, as well as big interest from bigger schools like West Virginia, Penn State, Pitt and Vanderbilt, among others. He's currently unrated, though that's likely to change as evaluators finish up the class of 2016 in the coming months.

Brouse is the seventh (technically eighth if we include Brandon Ginnetti) member of the 2016 class, and the second offensive linemen. He joins the list of recent commitments to SU, including Scoop Bradshaw, Will Harper and Rex Culpepper. The rest of the class also includes Cam DeGeorge, Sadiq Palmer and of course, Robert Washington.

While Brouse is listed as a defensive end in a lot of places, it appears the Orange saw him as an offensive tackle prospect due to his size and athleticism.
