Syracuse Football Recruiting: 2016 Georgia OLB/Nickel Will Harper Verbals to Orange

The future nickel star of the Syracuse defense verbally-commited to SU for 2016.

They say Friday afternoon is the best time to dump bad news. Well this is like the opposite of that, so...

Sandy Creek (Tyrone, Ga.) High School junior outside linebacker/nickelback Will Harper verbally committed to Syracuse after wrapping up an unofficial visit on Friday, he said via Twitter direct message.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Harper is rated two stars by Rivals.com and holds offers from Syracuse, Navy, Western Kentucky, Army, Air Force and Eastern Michigan, among others. He recorded 46 tackles, including five for loss, and two interceptions as a junior, according to MaxPreps.com.

Looks like we may need to double-check, though, as Harper may have committed to our new rival, THE Syracuse University.

So long as University of Syracuse didn't get him, it's still fine.

Give DeAndre Smith credit for getting Harper in the fold. They've been in touch since the spring.

Rivals has Harper listed as a two-star player and all signs point to him being an Okie package specialist when he gets here. Rodney Williams is the go-to nickel headed into this season.

Harper in the fifth verbal for the 2016 class and ensures that SU keeps it's Georgia pipeline flowing for the third-consecutive year.
