For four straight years, the Syracuse Orange women's lacrosse team has made it to the final weekend of the season. The seniors who know nothing but Final Fours would like to do one more thing before they graduate. It's the only thing they have yet to accomplish.
Win a National Championship.
They can move one step closer to that goal tonight when they take on the No. 1 overall Maryland Terrapins in one of two semifinal match-ups on Friday night.
The game will be televised live on ESPN3 and you can listen to the broadcast on Cuse.com and on WJPZ 89.1FM in Syracuse.
The game isn't just a chance to get back to the finals for the third time in four years. It's also a chance at redemption. Maryland defeated Syracuse 15-12 in the title game last season. The two teams also met earlier this season in College Park where the Terrapins held off an Orange second-half comeback for a 10-7 victory. In fact, Maryland has been a particular thorn in SU's side ever since we joined the ACC.
All eyes will be on Kayla Treanor. The Tewaaraton Trophy finalist needs two points to become the fourth player in SU history to score 300 points.
