Syracuse Basketball Recruiting: VJ King Releases Top 5

On Thursday, 2016 5-star forward VJ King announced his top 5 via Instagram. Kentucky, Arizona, UConn, Virginia and Louisville all made the list.

Syracuse first started showing interest in King last September once he transferred to Paul VI Catholic (VA), the same school as 2015 signee Frank Howard. At the time, it seemed as if Syracuse had a realistic shot at King. Frank Howard told me last year he'd be on VJ daily about his interest in Syracuse. However, King had other aspirations.

He officially visited Louisville last week, and will most likely officially visit the other four schools on his final list.

It's unknown the last time the Syracuse Orange staff reached out to King.

Despite the connection with Frank Howard, King always seemed like a long-shot for the Orange to sign.

Syracuse offered the 6-6 forward last October, but the communication slowly faded between the two sides, as well as King's interest.
