The Nike EYBL, Adidas Uprising and Under Armour Association were all in action this weekend. There were numerous Syracuse targets in action, including the recent offers. Mike Hopkins and Gerry McNamara were in Lexington this weekend watching the Nike EYBL circuit.
Nike EYBL - Lexington, K.Y.
Jordan Tucker, a 6-8/200 4-star forward, is running with the NY Lightning this summer. The Lightning finished 3-1 over the weekend. Tucker bounced back from a sluggish first session, averaging 16 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. Syracuse has offered Tucker, who has high interest in SU.
Alterique Gilbert, a 5-10/155 4-star guard, recently received an offer from Syracuse. Gilbert is freakishly quick on both ends of the court, and is beginning to gain national attention. Over the weekend, Gilbert averaged 17.8 points, 2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. Alterique reportedly has interest in Syracuse, although it's still early in his recruitment.
Howard Washington, a 6-3/160 4-star guard, will run with the Albany City Rocks this summer. The City Rocks went 3-1 this past weekend. Howard sat out the first game of the weekend, but played in the other three. He averaged 6 points, 4 rebounds and 3.3 assists over the weekend. Syracuse has not offered Washington, but have remained in contact.
Quinton Rose, a 6-5/170 3-star guard, runs with the Albany City Rocks. Coach Hopkins watched Rose in the beginning of March and the Orange have stayed in contact ever since. In Lexington, Rose averaged 10.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. Rose holds many D-1 offers, however Syracuse is not one of them.
Kevin Huerter, a 6-5/170 3-star guard, runs with the Albany City Rocks. After an impression first session a few weeks ago, Syracuse has began to show interest. Over the weekend, Huerter averaged 12.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Huerter holds offers from Albany, Baylor, Marquette, Maryland, Miami, Xavier, among others.
Adidas Uprising - Indianapolis
Matthew Moyer, a 6-8/210 4-star forward, is playing with the Indiana Elite this summer. Moyer, the lone 2016 commit, struggled over the weekend. He averaged 7.3 points, 3 rebounds and .5 assists per game.
Kobi Simmons, a 6-5/170 5-star guard, runs with the Atlanta Celtics. Simmons received an offer from Syracuse last week. Simmons played in three-of-four Celtic games this weekend, and averaged 12.7 points, 3.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game. Syracuse conducted an in-home visit with Simmons last week, which reportedly went well.
James Banks, a 6-11/230 4-star center, runs with the Atlanta Celtics. Like Simmons, Banks was offered by Syracuse last week. Over the weekend, the Celtics went 3-1. Banks averaged 7.3 points and 6.3 rebounds. James has only played organized basketball for three seasons, but you couldn't tell by his skill set.
UA Association - Louisville, K.Y.
Trevon Duval, 6-3/175 5-star guard, is playing with WE R1 in the Under Armour Association. WE R1 went 4-0 this weekend. Duval, the top 2017 target for the Orange, averaged 17.5 points, 2.8 boards, and 4.5 assists per game. Trey proved again he's the top guard in the 2017 class, and will remain the top priority for 2017.
Melo Eggleston, a 6-8/180 4-star wing, is playing with the 16U DC Premier this summer. The Premier went 2-2 this weekend. Eggleston struggled this weekend, averaging 4.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Coach McNamara has remained in contact with Eggleston throughout the NCAA sanctions and transfers, however, Syracuse has not offered the 6-8 forward.
Hamidou Diallo, a 6-4/170 4-star guard, is a 2017 shooting guard from Connecticut. Diallo runs with the New York Jayhawks, and holds offers from many D-1 schools. Syracuse began to show interest last week, but have not offered. Over the weekend, the Jayhawks went 2-2. Hamidou averaged 12 points, 4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
Sedee Keita, a 6-10/225 4-star forward, has remained in contact with Syracuse, and vice-versa. Despite everything that has happened, Coach McNamara has maintained a strong bond with Keita. Sedee's interest in Syracuse remains very high. Keita averaged 2.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Keita told me last week he wants to visit Syracuse before making his college decision. Keita plays with Trevon Duval and WE R1.
