King, a 6-7 forward, is a freshman at Roselle Catholic (NJ), the same program that produced current Syracuse Orange forward Tyler Roberson.
According to MaxPreps, King played in only 8 varsity games this season for RC. He averaged 1.8 points per game. Despite minimum playing time, Roselle Catholic won the New Jersey Tournament of Champions, led by top 2015 guard Isaiah Briscoe.
King's teammate, Nazreon "Naz" Reid, is arguably the best player in the 2018 class. He reportedly holds offers from from Connecticut, Iowa, Kansas, LSU, Maryland, NC State, Seton Hall, St. John's and Virginia, according to Future150. Reid will likely become a Syracuse target in the near future.
Syracuse is King's first major D-1 offer.
One thing is for certain, Jim Boeheim and the Orange staff must love King. In a time when Syracuse is under scholarship restrictions, the Hall-of-Famer extended an offer to an unknown freshman, who played the majority of this season on JV.
