Syracuse Basketball Recruiting: In-Home Visit With Simmons, In Contact With Turner

Jim Boeheim and his coaching staff conducted an in-home visit with 2016 5-star Kobi Simmons on Monday night.

Last week, Syracuse offered 2016 5-star combo guard Kobi Simmons. Monday night, Jim Boeheim traveled to Georgia to conduct an in-home visit with Kobi and his family.

Simmons hosted North Carolina head coach Roy Williams and Orange head coach Jim Boeheim on Monday night. Georgia conducted an in-home visit with the elite guard a few days ago.

With the recent scholarship reduction, the coaching staff has made it apparent they're going after "one-and-done talent" in order to maximize roster spots and recruiting hour limitations. The Orange are somewhat late to the party for Simmons, but are making up ground fast.

Syracuse is going hard after top 2016 guards by offering Simmons last week and Alterique Gilbert last night. The Orange have also had a scholarship offer out to 5-star guard Tyus Battle for some time. Battle took official visits to Duke and Louisville this past weekend.

In additional recruiting news: Last night, 2017 shooting guard Terrell Turner confirmed that Orange assistant Adrian Autry had contacted him on Sunday. Last week, Turner said he's excited to visit Syracuse in the future. He's definitely a prospect to keep an eye on as SU's future classes take shape.
