Syracuse Orange football is now hunting a new quarterback as their latest offer went out to 3-star quarterback Jamie Newman on Tuesday, according to his Twitterfeed. The Orange come as his 11th offer, with other schools such as Boston College, UNC, Duke, and West Virginia being some other notable offers.

Newman is listed at 6'4" and 231 pounds and has incredible mobility for his size, showing it with a verified 4.70 40-yard dash time as well as with the 1,251 rushing yards he accumulated over the course of his junior season. His running ability takes nothing away from his arm, as he threw for 1,840 yards and 20 touchdowns this season as well.

Newman is believed to be one of four quarterbacks being heavily pursued by the Orange. There is New Jersey recruit Anthony Brown, who appears to be the top target, Michigan QB Josh Jackson, and local CBA product Jack Brotzki, whose father is SU's director of player development.

Syracuse is currently lead on the QB depth chart by redshirt senior Terrel Hunt. He is followed by backup sophomore AJ long, redshirt sophomore Austin Wilson, and sophomore walk-on Zack Mahoney. Two more quarterbacks, Eric Dungey and Kenterius Womack, will also be coming in this summer as part of the 2015 signing class.
