Syracuse Football Recruiting: 2016 NJ Wide Receiver Sadiq Palmer Verbals

The Orange picked up their second commitment to the Class of 2016 on Saturday.

Red Bank Regional high school wide receiver Sadiq Palmer didn't need a lot of time to think about after the Syracuse Orange football program offered him a 2016 scholarship on Friday. Come Saturday, he verbally-committed to play for SU.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound New Jersey recruit joins DE Cam DeGeorge in the Class of 2016. He's tall and speedy and exactly the kind of receiver Shafer has been looking for.

Syracuse is Palmer's first offer, though his uncle doesn't expect the wideout to waver if other offers come in.

"One thing I know about my nephew is that he's a man of his word. A man of integrity. The fact that he was offered humbled him. He's very appreciative of it. If you know anything about Sadiq, he's a wonderful young man."

According to CuseNation, he's also receiving interest from Rutgers and Old Dominion. Palmer is also good friends with three-star QB recruit Anthony Brown, whom the Orange are also recruiting.

The lead recruiter was of course Bobby Acosta, who runs NJ for the Orange. While he can't comment directly, his tweet in the seconds after the news was announced said it all.
