Syracuse Lacrosse: Ben Williams Watch 2015, Week 6

Williams finished Saturday taking 16 of 27 faceoffs and picking up 11 groundballs. The sophomore's statistics seem to be leveling off a bit, and entering the heart of ACC play it will be tough for him to continue at his early season pace. Williams' faceoff winning percentage dipped after the game against Hopkins to .689. The move down puts him fourth in Syracuse Orange history for faceoff winning percentage in a season and leaves him in second in the nation for 2015. The 11 groundballs on Saturday actually elevated his groundballs per game to 9.67, keeping him second in the country for 2015. His 91 faceoff wins in 2015 leaves him 79 out of the top ten for faceoff wins in a season for a Syracuse player, and his 58 groundballs this season leaves him with 26 more to be made to enter the top ten for the most groundballs in a season for a Syracuse player.

With at least seven more games remaining, I expect Ben Williams to finish the season in the top ten for both most groundballs and most faceoff wins made by a Syracuse player in a season.
