The Syracuse Orange (15-7) returns to the Petersen Events Center for the first time since Tyler Ennis broke their hearts. They'll take on the Pittsburgh Panthers (15-8) in the first game of their home-and-home. The game tips at 4:00 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN2 & ESPN3.
It's Syracuse's first game since announcing they will self-impose a post-season ban on the 2015 season.
Pittsburgh is the fourth-most familiar opponent in Syracuse hoop history and Saturday’s encounter will be the 104th between the two programs. The Orange lead the all-time series, 65-39, and have won three straight games.
The Panthers have won two straight, including a 76-72 win over nationally-ranked Notre Dame on January 31. Sophomore forwards Michael Young (13.2 PPG, 7.8 RPG) and James Artis (12.4 PPG, 5.5 RPG) are the two top threats for Pitt. Junior guard James Robinson (10.1 PPG, 5.1 APG) has started all 23 games with Young and Artis.
