Georgia remains a pipeline state for the Orange over the last few seasons, as safety Christopher Frederick faxed in his NLI today. While there was a late push by Stanford to secure the talented defensive back, Frederick remained true to his commitment and didn't even visit the Cardinal. Not only is that a big win for SU, but is a great sign for Frederick's academics.

Ben's Breakdown:
While Frederick was recruited as a safety, he definitely has the ability to play cornerback as well. Versatility is a common trend in Syracuse DB recruits, and cross-training these players at each position helps them have a better understanding of the game. Frederick definitely has the physical ability to succeed in college football, and hopefully the coaching staff will be able to help his reading of the game, as coach Chris Hill mentioned that was a weak spot of his.
Frederick will most likely see a redshirt season in 2015 anyways, which should help him adjust to the college game and prepare himself to compete for a starting spot in 2016. However, with most prospects, he could force his way into the team through special teams as he can definitely lay a hit on opposing players.
