National Signing Day: Marquise Blair's Officially Orange

Marquise's Facebook Page

As we all know, we could use some help in the Syracuse secondary. Lucky for us, Marquise Blair (and others, of course) is officially joining the Orange. After committing back in June, he's held steady for SU and now we'll see him on campus this fall.

Ben's Breakdown:

Marquise Blair might be the best player in the class when all is said and done. Without his academic concerns, he'd probably have far more offers than he currently does. This kid is a big, big talent and should help Orange fans forget about Daiquan Kelly (although man, that would have been an awesome defensive backfield). Blair's coach has said he should qualify for the 2015 season, although I'm always wary of claims like that.

Blair was a huge get for this staff when he committed, and we've done well to hold off Pitt, who definitely had late interest even after Jay Stocker committed there. If Blair's academics are in order, I could see him easily playing a role on special teams this season, and possibly forcing himself into the picture at safety. Either way, we have a kid who could be very special when all is said and done.
