After flipping Steven Clark from South Alabama back in December, Syracuse thought it found a "diamond in the rough." A late push from Florida and Vanderbilt made things a bit scary for a few days last week, but in the end, Clark stuck with his "family" here at SU, reaffirming his commitment on Thursday.

Ben's Breakdown:
This was an absolute roller coaster of a recruitment. For those that frequent syracusefan.com, Clark's father had started posting after his commitment, and was the first to discuss that UF had started to call regarding a visit. We went from "not visiting" and "completely solid to SU" to taking and official visit and "doing what's right for me", and for a while it looked like the Orange didn't stand a chance.
However, Steven took a step back after the visit and confirmed with himself and his family that he made the right decision. This is huge for the Orange, as Clark's tape is a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Clark is an animal on both sides of the ball, and his aggression combined with his agility is very impressive for a big man at DT. There's a chance Clark could play right away this year, especially with Wayne Williams and John Raymon's statuses up in the air.
Whatever happens, we definitely found a sleeper in Clark, and he looks like a kid that will rapidly grow into a fan favorite with the hardnosed Syracuse community.
