The high school basketball season is under way and plenty of Syracuse Orange recruits are starting to put together big-time performances. A few of the recruits have put together some monster games for their high schools.
2017 target Quade Green scored 15 points in a 92-44 victory over Bishop McDevitt. @Q_Green1
— Syracuse Basketball (@cusesigel) December 16, 2015
Green is a 6-foot point guard out of Philadelphia. He has been on Syracuse's radar for a while. He attends Neumann-Goretti, the same high school that produced the likes of Scoop Jardine, Rick Jackson, and current Syracuse WR Jamal Custis. Green's teammate Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree, also holds an offer from the Orange.
Five-star Kevin Knox just had the most impressive outing of the City of Palms so far, going for 27 points (11-22) & 12 rebounds in a win.
— Evan Daniels (@EvanDaniels) December 19, 2015
Knox is an athletic freak at small forward. At 6-foot 7 he is a very versatile player. He can rebound the ball and get out in transition, finish around the rim, and also has the ability to knock down a jump shot. Knox holds offers from the likes of Duke, North Carolina, and Florida St. He will be a tough kid to get to commit, but he has expressed interest in the Orange.
2016 signee Tyus Battle scored 17 points in a 58-42 victory over South Brunswick.
— Syracuse Basketball (@cusesigel) December 19, 2015
Tyus Battle, 2016 signee, had a solid outing in his first game of the season. Battle is still trying to recover from the foot injury, that side lined him for much of last season. Battle is motivated for a big season as his recruiting ratings dropped, due to injury, he is trying to prove the doubters wrong.
2018 target Jahvon Quinerly hit six 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 29 points in Hudson Catholic's 74-37 season-opening W vs. Elizabeth
— Syracuse Basketball (@cusesigel) December 19, 2015
Qunierly, is a crafty point guard from New Jersey. His recruitment has been relatively quiet thus far, but it will soon pick up as he gets older. He attended Orange Madness, and was at the St. John's game last week. Quinerly is as smooth as they come at the point and can do it all.
Naz Reid - Power Forward Andre Rafus- Small Forward
2017 target Andre Rafus scored 22 points in Roselle Catholic's season-opening victory over Plainfield. Naz Reid added 18. @cantstoprafus
— Syracuse Basketball (@cusesigel) December 19, 2015
Both Rafus and Reid are big time recruits that play at Roselle Catholic. Reid is a big time power forward in the class of 2018. Reid holds offers from UConn, Villanova, and Louisville. Rafus holds offers from the likes of UConn, Georgetown, and UCLA. He is an athletic lefty, with range from 3.
Also, another high school basketball player had a big game Friday, as Jimmy Boeheim, Coach Boeheim's son, scored 39 points in a win over Norwich.
