The series dates back to the 1901-02 season when Syracuse won the first three game before the Big Red broke off an eight-game winning streak. The Orange answered with a nine-in-a-row and Syracuse has held the series advantage since. SU leads the all-time series 89-31, which includes a current winning streak which covers 35 games.
Bill Courtney is in his seventh season at Cornell and owns a 55-99 record with the Big Red. He's already led Cornell to two games against ACC teams, losing its season opener at Georgia Tech, 116-81 and a November loss to Pittsburgh, 93-49.
We think the Orange are going to cruise to victory, which would be a nice change of pace.
Mike Hopkins is already starting to differentiate himself from Jim Boeheim, though he better be sure to tend Boeheim's flock well. One thing he needed to do this week...work on team defense.
