Syracuse Football Recruiting Update: Orange Looking at Illinois Player of the Year

Dino Babers and Co. may be in the dead period, but that doesn't mean they've slowed down with two new names being added to the Orange's wish list.

Yesterday, John started looking at what the Orange's defense could look like under Babers with a basic break down of the Tampa 2 defense. One of the biggest changes we'll be looking at is with linebackers: instead of smaller, pin your ears back types, Babers is going to be looking at bigger, more versatile athletes.

Right on cue...

Brodner is the Gatorade Player of the Year for Illinois. He was a Vanderbilt commit, but recently decided to reopen his decision and look elsewhere.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Doug Marrone JUCO Pipeline (TM) might be open once again.

According to Rivals, the 6'3" wide out was looking at a few schools before JUCO, including Nebraska and Washington. Scout has that his current list of suitors include Hawaii, Middle Tennessee and Syracuse.
