The second Fall standings of the Learfield Sports Directors Cup were released this morning and the Syracuse Orange remain in the lead with 347.5 points . Men's Soccer's College Cup finish was good for 83 points as the Orange enjoy the best all-around Fall semester in school history.
As expected, the Stanford Cardinal have moved up in the rankings and currently trail Syracuse by only 3 points with 344.5. In third place are the Virginia Cavaliers with 295 points, followed by the North Carolina Tar Heels with 232 points and rounding out the top 5 are the UCLA Bruins with 211.5 points. The entire ACC is ranked in the top 42 right now, which is a slight dip from the 1st rankings, but shows the quality of the conference.
The Directors Cup standings for Division 1 are based upon the top 10 men's and top 10 women's sports at each institution. Syracuse won't add any points in the final Fall rankings, which will be released on December 24th, but the Orange should remain in the top 5, which is a great accomplishment for the program.
